Food Allergy Awareness Week

Hi everyone! My name is Gina and I am today’s spotlight for Food Allergy Awareness Week. I was diagnosed with food allergies at the age of two. I am allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and seeds.

Activities

I am really involved outside of school. I have danced for almost my whole life. I haven't had that much problems with allergies while going on stage. I also was in a couple plays and didn't have any allergy problems there. I was in my church's youth group. Overall, what I found to be the most helpful is meeting with people in advance before joining something and letting them know about my allergies. I educate them about food allergies in general and make suggestions on what safe foods they could serve to everyone. Family and Friends My family understands my food allergies the most and always look out for me. Whenever there is a family party no one ever serves anything that has peanuts in it. All my friends understand food allergies and look out for me too

This is my first year on the FARE TAG team. I am very excited to be part of all these groups that can help others with food allergies!
